The significant Greenstone edifice was severely deteriorated form moisture infiltration through the delicate stone. Greenstone is no longer available. As an immediate stabilization measure, Marion executed stone restoration repair mortar patching of the stone at the bell tower entry’s north and east lower wall faces. Mortar was also repointed in these areas. These repair techniques have since established the standard for this unique stone repair in the Chicago area.
This project received a 2006 Preservation Award from the City of Chicago.
