Messer Meyer Mill Stabilization | Richfield, WI
The wood post and beam gristmill is supported by a two-foot rubble coursed stone foundation. As the site moved from moisture and a creek bed nearby, the foundation cracked and began to move.
Marion, Inc. executed stabilization of the foundation by installing steel shoring towers beneath the wood first floor beam structure, executing stone footing repairs, executing crack stabilization with stainless steel cables, filling voids and repointing with USHG repointing mortar utilizing traditional techniques. Large voids in the racks and beneath the wood sill were filled.
