Mosaic Restoration Training

This hands-on training introduces the fundamental techniques used in the conservation and
repair of historic mosaic surfaces. Participants will learn how to assess mosaic conditions,

stabilize deteriorated areas, and carry out repairs that preserve both structural integrity and
visual continuity.
You will learn:

• Mosaic condition assessment and documentation
• Common causes of mosaic deterioration
• Cleaning methods suitable for historic mosaics
• Stabilization of loose or detached tesserae
• Resetting and re-bedding damaged areas
• Grout selection and finishing techniques
