Course Title: Repointing Historic Masonry
Our most popular AIA CES course guides architects through a system of best practices from condition assessment through installation to consistently produce excellent results for projects that involve repointing of historic (and non-historic) masonry structures.
1) At the end of this course participants will be able to identify common masonry problems related to repointing when visually assessing a historic masonry structure.
2) At the end of this course participants will be able to differentiate between suitable and unsuitable materials as well as techniques for repointing historic masonry structures.
3) At the end of this course participants will be able to write specifications that based on industry standards and best practices for quality assurance and quality control over historic masonry preservation repointing materials and techniques.
4) At the end of this course participants will be able to evaluate project-specific materials and techniques for repointing historic masonry structures in-situ against historic preservation industry standards and best practices.
